Management
Wingerts Consulting is a family-owned, small business based in Sonoma County, California. Stephen Wingert, the firm’s manager, handles marketing, consultant recruitment, client relations, and contract implementation, and he directly provides consulting services. Marilee Wingert coordinates logistics, payments to consultants, and general office management. Stephen Wingert has an MBA and a Masters in Agricultural Economics from Stanford University. He is a retired USAID Senior Foreign Service Officer, having served as Mission Director in Costa Rica, Deputy Mission Director in Guatemala, Chief of Rural Development for the Latin America and Caribbean Region, and other significant USAID positions. He received the USAID Outstanding Career Service Award, Presidential Management Improvement Award, and the USAID Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards. Since retiring from USAID in 1995 he has managed Wingerts Consulting as well as successfully completing consulting assignments personally in a wide range of fields. Marilee Wingert has a Masters in Counseling from George Mason University, and was awarded Mental Health Program Grants by the State Department in Guatemala and Costa Rica. Marilee Wingert also manages a scholarship program and handicrafts development program for the Asociación de Mujeres Indígenas para el Desarrollo Integral in the Pachay las Lomas Aldea of San Martin Jilotepeque, Chimaltenango, Guatemala.
